Dallas Adult Entertainment: Midvale eyes racy businesses
The council is expected to approve the new sexually-oriented businesses ordinance next month.
The main ordinance change, Hall said, is defining a sexually-oriented business:
» More than 10 percent of the store’s retail floor at that location is used for sex toys, among other items. (Lingerie is not considered a sexually-oriented product.)
» More than 25 percent of the business’ gross revenue comes from sexually-oriented products at the locale.
There is no totally nude dancing “anytime, anywhere” in a commercial establishment, said Hall, who started working on such ordinances for other cities nine years ago.
Also, ordinance changes will include escort services as sexually-oriented businesses that already must comply with several regulations, such as having written contracts saved for a year and an office with an employee on duty during escort working hours.
