Report: Ireland Will Seek Out Bryant Thursday
Before April’s NFL draft, Dolphins’ general manager Jeff Bryant ignited a media firestorm of sorts when he reportedly asked Dez Bryant, during a meeting, if his mother had ever been a prostitute. Bryant answered the question, saying ‘no,’ and moved on–but he was understandably offended.
Later that month, Bryant was selected 24th overall by Dallas; on Thursday, he’ll see Ireland for the first time since the incident–at least if Ireland has anything to say about it, he will.
According to a report in the Miami Herald, which cites an unnamed source, the Miami GM “has given thought to the Bryant situation in recent days and would like to speak with Bryant.”
Ireland, per the Herald, has spoken with Dolphins officials about the potential meeting, and the media intrigue that will inevitably follow. He declined comment on Thursday, but will reportedly try to find the Oklahoma State product before Thursday’s exhibition and “try to make sure Bryant is OK with everything.”

Ireland has re-visited the Byrant issue in light of the upcoming Dallas game and decided he’d like to find Bryant and speak with him if he gets a chance. According to Miami Herald’s Armando Salguero, Ireland wants to “try to make sure Bryant is OK with everything and perhaps repeat in person what he said during a phone conversation with Bryant following their pre-draft incident.”
Miami’s GM since 2008, Ireland found himself stooped in controversy after interviewing the immensely talented, but troublesome Oklahoma State star before this year’s NFL Draft. During the course of the interview, Bryant revealed that his father was a pimp, to which Ireland responded by asking if Bryant’s mother, who had a prior arrest on drug charges, was a prostitute. Bryant angrily dismissed the question and Ireland later called the rookie and apologized.

Gibson escaped early Saturday from the Wayback Halfway House at 899 North Stemmons Freeway in Dallas. Authorities have issued an arrest warrant against Gibson for failure to comply with civil commitment requirements, which is a third degree felony. Anyone who is helping him during his escape could face criminal charges.
Gibson, 33, is 6’3”, weighs 250 pounds and has numerous tattoos on his arms, legs and chest. He has brown eyes and black hair. In the past, Gibson has also gone by these aliases: Billy Bruton, Billy Gibson, Tuloo Gibson, Joseph Mohan and Tulu.
Gibson has an extensive criminal history involving aggravated sexual assault, aggravated robbery, unlawfully carrying a weapon and compelling prostitution by force or threat. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Texas Department of Safety investigators have been searching for a registered sex offender who they say left a halfway house and cut off his 24-hour tracking device.

DALLAS — Investigators with the Texas Department of Safety were searching for a registered sex offender who left a halfway house and cut off a 24-hour tracking device he is required to wear.
Authorities say 33-year-old Billy Twayne Gibson fled early Saturday from the Wayback House in Dallas.
Authorities issued an arrest warrant for failure to comply with civil commitment requirements, a third-degree felony.
The DPS described Gibson as 6-3, weighing 250 pounds with tattoos on both arms. He was considered armed and dangerous. He has a criminal history involving aggravated sexual assault, aggravated robbery, unlawful carrying of a weapon and compelling prostitution by force or threat.
