Chris Johnson can’t do it alone against the Steelers defense, and Vince Young… Well, we know he can do it sometimes, but it’s an open question as to whether he can handle success as a starting quarterback.
He’s been great at leading comebacks and he looked promising as he salvaged the Titans season last year. But as “The Guy” in the NFL, his track record isn’t that impressive. That Parker County ‘john’ might be a cop
OK, police and sheriff’s deputies want to keep vice out of Parker County, so why invite prostitutes to a Weatherford hotel?
That’s what happened last March and in August when members of the Weatherford-Parker County Special Crimes Unit answered online classified ads to lure prostitutes into the county.
Six people (above), including three women from Fort Worth and a man from Abilene, were arrested during the latest “sting” on Aug. 23.
Officers want prostitutes to think that it’s risky to visit a “john” in Parker County. He might be an undercover cop.
Cpl. Wendy Field, police spokeswoman, said that “by running a few sting operations per year, we will let both the vendors and their potential customers know that Weatherford-Parker County is not a place they can freely do business.”

I kid, I kid. This is actually a pretty good move by the NFL. The Black Eyed Peas are at least relevant and have songs people under the age of 25 will have heard outside their parents’ minivans. It may not be yours or my particular cup of tea, but at least the Peas are inoffensive provided they don’t play “Boom, Boom, Pow”.
The Black Eyed Peas would be the first current musical act to perform at the Super Bowl since 2004. Not coincidentally, that was the year Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake performed their impromptu strip tease in front of 90 million live viewers. Since then the NFL has veered toward somewhat-irrelevant aging white rock bands (The Rolling Stones), mostly-irrelevant aging white rock bands (The Who), completely irrelevant aging white rock bands (Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers) and Prince (Prince).

For a while there, life was pretty sweet for Ed Molz III. The financial start-up he formed last August was doing great business, and while his office staff fielded calls from investors around the world, he lived the good life, with shopping for sports cars and getting plastic surgery by day, and dropping a thousand bucks a night at Dallas strip clubs.
The investors whose investments paid for his lifestyle, though, knew him as “Frank Sullivan,” and while few ever met him in person, he talked a good enough game to lure hundreds of investors into the sham operation he named 3rd Street Financial.
For $3,000 to $6,000 up front, the company supposedly sold “aged” corporations with lines of credit up to $400,000 — a quick way for small business owners to get credit for their start-ups at a time when banks aren’t lending like they used to. “We are having a 99.9% success rate right now even in these crazy economic times,” the company’s website claimed, according to an FBI investigator’s affidavit.

Arlington proposes “zone” to eliminate prostitutes before Super Bowl XLV

It is that kind of violence, Arlington Police are trying to prevent with a new proposal to reduce prostitution in the city before the Super Bowl XLV early next year. Authorities believe the event will draw hundreds of thousands of visitors and an increase in prostitutes.

Cluck says that while he is concerned about the city’s image for the big game, he is not convinced the police plan will work. Police officials want to set up a “zone” near the sports venues and restaurants, where known prostitutes and their customers would be arrested, if they are there for no good reason.
“How would you identify those who have been arrested for prostitution,” Cluck wondered?
Dallas has tackled it’s prostitute problem in a different way. Once a month, police and other agencies offer women on the streets counseling and drug treatment, in exchange for being arrested. Experts say for some women it is a permanent way out of street life.
