Strip club lights blind pilot during landing
NBC — The pilot of a Southwest Airlines flight said a bright light nearly blinded him as he was landing at Dallas Love Field on Sunday night.
The pilot of Flight 939 from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Dallas, said a flash of light interfered with his vision about four miles out from the airport.
“All of a sudden, a bright flash of light, and their night vision is destroyed, and it takes a while to come back,” said Lynn Lunsford, of the Federal Aviation Administration. “When a laser goes off, it’s like a flash bulb going off in your eye.”
Dallas police traced the mystery light to a rotating spotlight on the roof of Bomb Shells Cabaret, an all-nude strip club near Interstate 35.

All the TV stations in D/FW have been buzzing about the news that a Southwest pilot was temporarily blinded by a spotlight from a strip club as he landed his flight at Dallas Love Field on Sunday.
The pilot of Flight 939 from Albuquerque, N.M. to Dallas was able to safely land the plane after the flash of light interfered with his vision prior to landing.

DALLAS – Someone spent thousands of dollars that wasn’t his at a Dallas strip club early Tuesday, police said.
The incident happened at about 2 a.m. inside the Dallas Gentlemen’s Club at 2117 Northwest Highway.
Investigators said somone used an illegally altered credit card to purchase more than $2,600 in lap dances and other services at the club.
According to a police report, information on the card did not match details on receipts. Proprietors apparently noticed the discrepancies and called authorities.
Police are searching for two suspects in the case.

Strip Club Search Light Endangers Flight

DALLAS – The spinning search light atop a Dallas strip club inadvertently flooded the cockpit of a jet preparing to land at Love Field Airport on Sunday, sparking safety concerns.
The incident happened just after 11 p.m. when the Southwest Airlines flight was on final approach, about 1,000 feet off the ground and a couple miles from the runway, officials said. That’s when the powerful light on the roof of Bomb Shells in the 2400 block of Walnut Ridge Street apparently caught the inside of the cockpit.
The pilot then radioed to the control tower to report a laser strike, a dangerous situation in which a laser beam strikes the cockpit, possibly causing temporary blindness.

33-year Billy Wayne Gibson, according to DPS officials escaped early Saturday from the Wayback Halfway House in Dallas. After escaping, officials say Gibson cut off the 24-hour GPS tracking device he’s reportedly required to wear at all times.
Authorities have issued an arrest warrant against Gibson for failure to comply with civil commitment requirements, which is a third degree felony. Anyone who is helping him during his escape could face criminal charges.
He’s described as being 6′3″ tall, weighing 250 lbs., has numerous tattoos on his arms, legs and chest, with brown eyes and black hair.
Officials say Gibson has a couple of aliases also; Billy Bruton, Billy Gibson, Tuloo Gibson, Joseph Mohan and Tulu.
Gibson reportedly has an extensive criminal history involving aggravated sexual assault, aggravated robbery, unlawfully carrying a weapon and compelling prostitution by force or threat.

Dallas, TX - A 1,000 dollar reward is being offered for the arrest of a registered sex offender who escaped this weekend.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says Billy Twayne Gibson left a Dallas halfway house early Saturday morning and ripped off his 24 hour ankle monitoring device.
Authorities consider him armed and dangerous.
Gibson has been charged with aggravated sexual assault and prostitution by force or threat.
The 33 year old is 6′ 3″, weighs 250 pounds and has several tattoos on arms legs and chest.
Anonymous information on Gibson’s whereabouts can be given to DPS at 1-800-252-TIPS or text the letters DPS and the info to CRIMES.

DALLAS – Officials are offering a reward for the capture of a violent sex offender who escaped from a halfway house and removed a tracking device.
Billy Twayne Gibson left the Wayback Halfway House in the 800 block of North Stemmons Freeway in Dallas just after midnight Saturday, officials said.
They said Gibson also cut off the 24-hour tracking device he is required by law to wear.
Texas Department of Public Safety investigators said Gibson is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 250 pounds. They said he has tattoos on his arms, legs and chest.
Gibson was released from prison in May after serving time for sexually assaulting a child, but has an extensive criminal record for other crimes including unlawfully carrying a weapon and compelling prostitution by force or threat.
