Dallas Strip Clubs: Storm threatens spill cleanup, BP says CEO to stay

BP said on Monday its spending to cap the well, clean up the spill and compensate those affected had accelerated to $100 million a day, bringing the total so far to $2.65 billion.
The company has set up a $20 billion compensation fund under U.S. government pressure.
Kenneth Feinberg, the independent administrator of the fund, has said it made “absolutely no sense” to drive BP into bankruptcy, while promising to streamline the claims process and even let some victims file online.
BP’s earlier handling of compensation on its own came under fire as unduly bureaucratic and time-consuming.
Feinberg expressed doubt on Monday that compensation could stretch as far as a New Orleans strip club that says it has lost business because the fishermen who are its customers are out of work due to the spill.

Dallas Escorts: My Denton Music spotlight: Nick Foreman of Dust Congress

Foreman: Nevada was showing some of his art in the Meme Gallery next to Rubber Gloves, and booked the bands as part of that. The show was intended to earn money for his trip to Portugal, where he is now for an exhibition. I’m sure you can find details at his website. I have been friends with Nevada for four years or so. We met through our friend Brian, who owns the Public Trust Gallery in Dallas, which used to be called Art Prostitute and was up here in Denton at the time. His artwork has always appealed to me for stylistic reasons, and over the past few years, the content of his art has really come to fit well with the tone I’m hoping to achieve with Dust Congress’s music. It’s probably got something to do with his presenting honest, and potentially offensive material to an audience, without making too many concessions. He doesn’t hold back on being literal and blunt, and I really respect that facet of Nevada’s attitude about art. We will always use him for all of our artwork and posters, as long as I can afford to pay him.

Dallas Strip Clubs: Goodell to meet with Titans’ Young over incident

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Sunday he will meet with Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young in the next few weeks to discuss his involvement in an altercation at a Dallas-area strip club, FoxSports.com reported.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Sunday he will meet with Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young in the next few weeks to discuss his involvement in an altercation at a Dallas-area strip club, FoxSports.com reported.
Goodell, who was speaking at the NFL’s rookie symposium, also said the league is “still gathering the facts” about a shooting last week outside a birthday party for Michael Vick involving one of his co-defendants in his dogfighting case, according to the report.Goodell said Young, a first-time legal offender who received a misdemeanor citation for assault, was unlikely to be suspended, as he is a first-time legal offender, according to the report.Earlier this year, Goodell conditionally suspended Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for six games after police investigated Roethlisberger on sexual assault allegations in Georgia. Roethlisberger was not criminally ch …

Dallas Strip Clubs: Goodell Says Vince Young Unlikely to Be Suspended

Vince Young is unlikely to be suspended for his role in a Dallas strip club brawl.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will meet with Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young in the next few weeks to talk about Young’s recent assault citation in Dallas.
Unlike Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, Young is unlikely to face suspension as he his a first-time legal offender according to Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com.
“I think you have to look at these cases individually and understand them in a way of what are the issues going on with any individual,” Goodell said Sunday at the 2010 NFL Rookie Symposium. “The intent of the (personal conduct) policy is to intervene so you help some individuals make a better decision and avoid these troubles. So when I sit down and look at all the facts around Vince or any other player, you want to make sure they understand that and what the policy was designed to do and more importantly understand the responsibility (of being an NFL player).”
Young got into a fight at a Dallas area strip club on June 13 after he was provoked by another man who was insulting Young’s alma mater — the University of Texas.

Dallas Strip Clubs: Do You Ho? Yes, You. Do You Need to Heal? Yes, You. Then You Must Read This Q&A.

No, no, no and no. I have had many, many, many men approach me and say “Thank You for writing this book” or “I feel the same way” or “I thought I was the only man who felt like this.” What I have done is explained to men who and why they are what they are and then challenged them to change. Men Don’t Heal, We Ho is about teaching men how to heal so that they don’t continue or become hos. I have had men come to me and say things like, “man if I would have read your book after my breakup, I would not have gotten that stripper pregnant.” He got broke up with his lady, instead of healing and started ho-ing. He was emotionally unstable which lead to him having unprotected and unsafe sex. (He probably caught something!)

Dallas Strip Clubs: Texas GOP Platform: No Blow Jobs, Strip Clubs or Porn

Texas GOP Platform: No Blow Jobs, Strip Clubs or Porn
This post first appeared on No More Mister Nice Blog.Via the New York Daily News, Blue Texan of Firedoglake has learned what the platform writers of the Texas Republican Party think is vitally important:The GOP there has voted on a platform that would ban oral and anal sex. It also would give jail sentences to anyone who issues a marriage license to a same-sex couple (even though such licenses are already invalid in the state)….In addition, the platform says that homosexuality “tears at the fabric of society, contributes to the breakdown of the family unit and leads to the spread of dangerous communicable diseases.”Texas Republicans also want to ban strip clubs and “all pornography.”Oh, but there’s way more to their platform than that. As Raw Story reported a few days ago (hat tip: Zandar):In addition to this, the Texas GOP seeks to end the state’s lottery, which provides millions in funding to public education; restrict citizenship t …

Dallas Strip Clubs: Texas GOP: No Strip Clubs, No Porn, No Gays, No Fun

Texas GOP: No Strip Clubs, No Porn, No Gays, No Fun
A preview of how this branch of the Republican Party would ru(i)n the country
Jun 24th, 2010 12:34 PM
HOUSTON—The Republican Party of Texas has just released its 2010 Party Platform, and if anyone still hasn’t figured out why that state—which gave us W., John Cornyn, Joe Barton, Jeb Hensarling, Ron Paul and Rick Perry—is so fucked up, the platform’s a good primer.
Of course, one doesn’t have to look further than page 1 to see how quickly the Party violates its own principles—notably, #9, “We believe in… [a] free enterprise society unencumbered by government interference or subsidies.” We can probably skip over recommended First Amendment violations like, “Any form of desecration of the American Flag is an act of disregard for our nation and its people and penalties should be established for such,” as well as “We call upon governmental entities to protect all symbols of our American heritage from being altered in any way,” but we couldn’t …

Dallas Strip Clubs: COMMENTARY: Texas Republicans have gone mad

The Texas law criminalizing sodomy was overturned only seven years ago, but now the RPT wants to invalidate that.
“We oppose the legalization of sodomy,” the platform states. “We demand that Congress exercise its authority granted by the U.S. Constitution to withhold jurisdiction from the federal courts from cases involving sodomy.”
Texas initially passed a law barring sodomy in 1860. Violators faced five to 15 years in prison. The ban was overturned in 2003.
The RPT platform states that homosexuality “tears at the fabric of society, contributes to the breakdown of the family unit and leads to the spread of dangerous communicable diseases.”
It also states that homosexuality must not be presented as an acceptable “alternative” lifestyle in public schools and “family” should not be redefined to include homosexual couples.
The RPT platform also calls for outlawing sexually-oriented businesses like strip clubs and banning all pornography.

Dallas Escorts: Arlington City Council Discusses Prostitution-Free Zone for Super Bowl XLV

If you’ve been convicted of a prostitution-related offense, you might want to hold off on buying tickets to Cowboys Stadium for Super Bowl XLV.
While the stadium was still under construction, police in Arlington, Texas, started Operation Spotlight to battle the city’s ongoing problems with prostitution. Now, with a Super Bowl coming to the stadium in 2011, the city is stepping up its efforts to crack down, The Dallas Morning News reports.
On Tuesday, Arlington City Council discussed a proposal for a prostitution exclusion zone. The ordinance would set boundaries that people convicted of prostitution-related offenses couldn’t legally cross, effective for one year.
The proposed zone includes a section of Arlington, including Cowboys Stadium, as well as Six Flags Over Texas and Rangers Ballpark.
If approved, a violation of the ordinance would be considered a Class C misdemeanor, which is the equivalent of a speeding ticket.
