Dallas Adult Entertainment: Football and the market

… Was your mother ever a prostitute?”
That question came from Jeff Ireland, the general manager of the Miami Dolphins who interviewed college football standout Dez Bryant, one of thousands of young players evaluated before the April 22 National Football League draft.
Bryant, who grew up living in several different homes and whose mother Angela spent 18 months in jail ending in December 1998 for selling crack cocaine to an undercover agent, showed amazing restraint.
“My mom is not a prostitute,” Bryant told Yahoo! Sports who first reported the story after the draft. “I got mad — really mad — but I didn’t show it.”
For many, Bryant’s restraint is nothing short of amazing.
“I don’t care who you are or who you’re talking to, that kind of question usually gets your [expletive] teeth kicked in,” said former NFL lineman Kyle Turley. “I mean, where do these people come from? That’s just completely [expletive] classless and totally unprofessional.”

Dallas Escorts: What Dez Says: Was Miami GM Out Of Line?

One of the biggest stories last week was the news that Miami Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland asked 1st round draft prospect Dez Bryant, “Was your Mom a prostitute?”
That interview question heard around the world immediately cast a shadow of not only Ireland’s career, but the Miami Dolphins’ organization. Ireland apologized the next day, which was the right thing to do.
Later in the week, the Dolphins gave their side of the story. According to Dan LeBatard’s tweet, here is something how the interview process went according to the Dolphins:
Dez Bryant denied any of this ever happened.
First off, under no circumstances Ireland should have asked if Bryant’s Mom was a prostitute. If Bryant said his Dad was a pimp and his Mom worked for his Dad, that would be enough information.

Dallas Escorts: Revolt! Question to Dez Bryant went too far, and NFL players should fight back

Trust him with a million-dollar contract at your own peril, which is why Dez, with top-10 talent, fell all the way to the Cowboys at No. 24 in the draft’s first round.
Which is legit. The NFL shouldn’t be a blank-check league. But that doesn’t mean common decency catches the last train for the coast. That doesn’t mean the NFL can go all CIA on its draft prospects.
Heck, Ireland’s question probably was illegal. There are tons of questions you can’t ask in job interviews, everything from age to where you live. What your parents do for a living seems to qualify for the don’t-ask list.
Sure, Dez Bryant came from a rough background. Received no home training. Maybe his dad was a pimp and his mom a druggie and maybe Dez even admitted it. But that’s still no license to take empathy off the table.

Dallas Escorts: Pimps, Prostitutes and NFL Minicamps

There was even been news generated by an NFL drafted player and NFL team executive from teams who did not hook up. The saga over Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland and Dez Bryant and the fallout over the “Is you mother a prostitute?” question just won’t go away.
Multiple credible sources including Sports Illustrated are now reporting that the question may not have been as offensive as it first seems. In fact, if it’s true, one wonders why the Dolphins have not come out publiclicly backing Ireland or why Ireland even apologized at all?
Although it’s being disputed by Bryan, it’s now being reported that the quote occurred within the following context and chain of conversation:
Ireland asked Bryant what his father did for a living and that began this line of conversation.
Dez Bryant: “My dad was a pimp.”Jeff Ireland: “What did your mom do [for a living]?”Bryant: “She worked for my dad.”Ireland: “Your mom was a prostitute?”Bryant: “No, she wasn’t a prostitute.”

Dallas Escorts: Dez Bryant Twists Ankle At Dallas Cowboys Minicamp

… Dez Bryant is an absolute talent,” Phillips said. “You don’t get to be around that many players that come in and look that good that early…He’s pretty natural, got great body control, great hands, quickness, power and speed.”
All but one of the Cowboys’ top-six draft picks were at the camp.
“Most of our draft choices certainly looked like we thought they would look on the field, which was important,” Phillips said.
Of the rookies who impressed were second-round linebacker Sean Lee and seventh-rounder Sean Lissemore.
Bryant, of course, was at the center of a messy PR blunder by the Miami Dolphins prior to the mini camp when it was discovered that the team’s general manager Jeff Ireland asked Bryant if his mother was a prostitute. Reports claim Bryant told Ireland that his father was a pimp, prompting the ensuing question.

Dallas Escorts: Politi: When it comes to character, NFL officials need to take hard look at selves

a. Bite your tongue and answer no. b. Stand up and leave the room. c. Overturn the desk on the guy.
If you answered B, you handled the situation better than anyone could expect. If you answered C, nobody would blame you as long as you pay for any broken picture frames or pencil holders.
If you answered A, you might be an NFL prospect.
This was another jarring part to the controversy last week involving Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland, one that put a spotlight on the pre-draft process of vetting players.
His question to wide receiver Dez Bryant was despicable. Forget the reports that Ireland was asking a follow-up question after Bryant said his father was a pimp and his mother worked for him (a story Bryant has denied). Regardless of the context, the question was wholly unnecessary, and another sign of the NFL’s out-of-control arrogance.
