David says provocatively dressed employees are a risk to employers, who could be accused of creating an environment where sex and flirting is encouraged. They’re also a risk to themselves. Clint David says, “If there should ever be a situation where you feel like you have a claim against your employer for sexual harrassment, if you dress in a provocative way, rightly or wrongly, someone might say, or you open yourself up to someone saying that you invited those overtures.”
Gust Kepler runs a Dallas consulting firm. It is laid back and relaxed, but not in lieu of professional. Because among other things, perception is reality. Gust Kepler says, “If I have clients here, I want them to know they’re in my office. If I start feeling like i’m in a strip club when I’m in my office, there’s a problem.”
