Dallas Adult Entertainment: Denison to Hire Consultant to Study Adult Businesses

The council approved hiring a consultant to study the effects that sexually oriented businesses have on communities.  They want to commission this study to serve as justification for rewriting the current city ordinances governing these types of businesses.  Denison already has ordinances on the books governing adult businesses, but those ordinances aren’t backed up by any type of data.  Denison is using Dallas as an example.  Dallas tried several times to enact new adult business ordinances, only to have them ruled illegal in court, until the city of Dallas commissioned a similar type study.  Denison Mayor Robert Brady said, “There’s no sense trying to reinvent the wheel.  There’s been other communities that have gone through this.  We’re going to take some time and go through some of those ordinances and try to come up with something that makes sense for our community.”  The city attorney already has the consultant picked out.  She will begin her work very soon.  The entire process, including rewriting the city ordinances on adult businesses, could take anywhere from 6-weeks to a few months.

Dallas Adult Entertainment: Dallas Safari Club to Enforce Zero Tolerance

This week, Dallas Safari Club (DSC) learned of allegations that certain outfitters exhibiting at sporting shows and expos across the U.S. are offering “child sex tourism” as part of their international hunting and fishing excursions. DSC announced today that it will aggressively enforce zero tolerance for those participating in these types of activities.
Outfitters shown to be involved will be banned from DSC membership and all club events.
“Our club has a well-established track record of banning outfitters for hunting ethics violations, but this deplorable activity goes beyond ethics and into criminal liability. Dallas Safari Club will not stand by while human decency is assaulted, either at home or abroad. I cannot overstate our condemnation of this appalling exploitation of minors,” said Ben Carter, DSC executive director.
Carter said DSC will continue to support ethical guides and outfitters, legitimate hunters and anglers–and the outdoor industry as a whole–for their invaluable worth to global conservation.

Bob Ford: For New Orleans, Super Bowl remains just a game
By Bob Ford
Inquirer Sports Columnist
If you access the powerful Nexis search engine, the standard for information collected from most major publications in North America, and keyword “New Orleans Saints” and “Katrina” and “long-suffering,” the result is a list of 51 recent articles each pimping the idea that civic renewal can be accomplished within the space of a professional football game.
That was just yesterday. Certainly, there will be more instances by this morning.
It is a familiar, if threadbare, concept, and that same basic idea – including the same adjectival description of local sports fans – has also been applied to economically ravaged Detroit, which was going to be saved by a Michigan State win in the Final Four, and to New York, which was to have its shattered resolve somehow mended by the New York Yankees in the 2001 World Series.

Dallas Escorts: Miami: "Sun, fun and strangeness"

Joe Montana cemented his reputation as “Joe Cool” with a last-minute, 92-yard winning drive on a pass to John Taylor with 34 seconds left in the 49ers’ 20-16 victory. It was the final game Bill Walsh coached, and it capped a remarkable scene of fires in parts of the city earlier in the week mixed with perhaps the fieriest ending in Super Bowl history.
On the eve of Super Bowl XXXIII in 1999, Atlanta safety Eugene Robinson was arrested as part of a sting operation on Miami’s Biscayne Boulevard when he solicited sex from an undercover cop posing as a prostitute. Earlier that day, Robinson had been feted with the Bart Starr Award from Athletes In Action for “high moral character.” Robinson played on Super Bowl Sunday but was burned by John Elway on an 80-yard touchdown pass to Rod Smith. The Broncos went on to win 34-19 as MVP Elway ended his career with back-to-back titles.

Dallas Escorts: Give It Up!

Mick, arguably the most slackerish college hoopster in NCAA history, doesn’t take kindly to threats — especially when issued by a mere woman. He vows to seek relief by accompanying his buddies to the best little whorehouse in the area. The seedy Eros Motor Lodge is run by curvy, corpulent wisecracker Hetairai Johnson (Liz Mikel), who also serves as the show’s narrator, commentator and overall mistress of ceremonies.
But, gee whiz, the basketball players are basically too nice to actually do anything with, well, you know, prostitutes (except for one tough-talking but soft-hearted fellow who chastely romances one of the heart-of-gold types). And when opposites start to attract — Lysistrata falls for Xander (Curtis Holbrook), a campus crusader who never tires of flapping his left wing, while Mick even more remarkably reveals a sensitive side when smitten by Robin — it’s only a matter of time before games are won, lovers are reunited and, presumably, legs are uncrossed.

Dallas Escorts: Prostitutes Look to Score at All-Star Game: Cops

Prostitutes Look to Score at All-Star Game: Cops

“We have been told from other cities that there is going to be an increase in prostitutes,” Lt. Christina Smith said.
A nonprofit group in Phoenix estimates that between 50,000 and 100,000 prostitutes flooded its city during Super Bowl XLII last year. Dallas police said they don’t know what to expect from the All-Star Game.
“I think it’s safe to say we will see some girls that are the traditional street prostitute and fair to say, we can expect more of the escort-service type of girls,” Smith said.

To prepare, the vice unit is adjusting officers’ schedules and hours so that all hands are on deck next week. Dallas police say they will focus on prostitution hotspots, such as Harry Hines Boulevard, as well as high-end hotels.

Dallas Escorts: The Super Bowl is a pressure cooker

The Super Bowl is a pressure cooker

Last Updated: February 02. 2010 8:08PM UAE / February 2. 2010 4:08PM GMT
Such is the overwhelming pressure of the Super Bowl that players have been known to lose their minds as it approaches.
One year an Atlanta Falcons safety was arrested trying to pick up an undercover police officer working as a prostitute the night before the game only hours after receiving a Christian Athlete of the Year award.
He was beaten for two touchdowns the next evening
A Cincinnati Bengals full-back whose importance in the game plan was paramount was found on the bathroom floor of his room the night before the game, overwhelmed by the pressure. He did not play. When a game can do that to you, NFL coaches have to try to balance preparation for an opponent against the pressure that surrounds the event. That is why the hardest part of the Super Bowl is getting ready for it.

STOLEN VAN WITH POLITICAL AD RECOVERED
Garland police said a van with a political advertisement for a Collin County district attorney candidate that was stolen has been found. The van, which had Rafael Delagarza’s picture all over it, was stolen last week. The van belongs to a friend of Delagarza who runs a vending machine business and was loaded with snacks. Police found the van outside a business Saturday night.
DPD EXPECTS INFLUX OF PROSTITUTES BEFORE ALL-STAR GAME
Dallas police are expecting an influx of prostitutes before the Feb. 14 game. A nonprofit group in Phoenix estimates tens of thousands of prostitutes flooded its area during last year’s Super Bowl. Dallas Escorts: Halftime: Will Freeney be another TO in SB?

I like the take from Colts linebacker Gary Brackett, that, “if anybody can come back from an injury, it’s Dwight. He’s had all kinds of strange things this year. He’s supposed to be out 10 weeks, he plays seven days later. He’s not a guy I count out as far as playing Sunday. Dwight has Wolverine-type characteristics.”
Here are some more lunchtime topics to munch on:
. . . An agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives told the Orlando Sentinel there will be bomb-sniffing dogs at the Super Bowl that “can detect almost anything.” Well then, in the interest of preserving the halftime show, they might want to keep them away from The Who.
. . . And with the millions being spent on security in south Florida how is it that 100,000 hookers are expected to flood the area this week, according to the Prostitute Diversion Initiative?

Dallas Strip Clubs: Friends don’t let friends attend the Super Bowl

The night before the game, we dined at Morton’s steakhouse in North Miami. We loaded up on Midwestern beef and eschewed the local seafood offerings. We loaded ourselves into my rented black Escalade and set the GPS for the party at South Beach. Three hours later, we were still trying to make the 20-mile trip. Turns out we were riding in a black Cadillac Glacier. It would have been faster to walk to South Beach.
We made it to South Beach but were denied entrance to the party. Apparently the SoBe fire marshal is a stickler for legal occupancy limits. Things started to get ugly. Snoop Dogg-meets-South Beach is not somewhere you want to be when hundreds of wasted partygoers are being turned away. I promised the boys I would take them to a gentlemen’s club if they got back in the car. Instead I took them home to their mother.
