Jones had told reporters he’d talk Thursday after the minicamp. But there was no media access after Phillips canceled the final scheduled practice.
Instead of practice, players, coaches and their families took part in a picnic and other family activities at the Valley Ranch facility. The family lunch was already planned, but players weren’t told about the cancellation of practice until getting to their position meetings Thursday morning.
The three-day minicamp followed four weeks of optional workouts, the first two coming before Jones was cleared to participate. There are no more organized practices for the Cowboys until they report to training camp July 24.
Jones was suspended in April 2007 following an accumulation of arrests and legal problems, including his connection to a shooting at a Las Vegas strip club.

Taylor claims to have learned of her pregnancy only after being arrested and taking a urine test at the police station.
Nowitzki would obviously prefer to deal with this extremely personal situation in private, but as embarrassing as it must be for him to see intimate details of his life splashed across the newspaper, it’s refreshing to see the relatively mature manner in which he’s handling the situation. All too often professional athletes make headlines for failing to provide for illegitimate children, but here’s a guy taking steps to claim his child before its even born.
Cristal Taylor, a 37-year-old ex-stripper, has a history of legal woes. From jail this week, Taylor said she is pregnant with Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki’s child and that they planned to marry before her recent arrest. Click through the gallery for police booking photos of sports stars.

D’Angelo Anderson is charged with capital murder in the death of 1-year-old Bridgette Guerro.
At his trial this afternoon, he took the stand to tearfully admit that he shook Bridgette in April 2008, causing her death. But says he never meant to hurt her. He said he was frustrated because Bridgette wouldn’t stop crying and he could not find a job.
“I didn’t think she was going to die,” he said on the witness stand as he wept. “I wasn’t intending to kill her. I just wanted her to stop crying.”
Anderson was living with the baby’s mother. He was taking care of Bridgette at their Pleasant Grove home while the baby’s mother worked as a stripper.
Dallas County prosecutors say Bridgette’s brain injuries were too severe to have just been caused by violent shaking. She also had a skull fracture.

A male dancer has been arrested after allegedly taking a woman into the basement of an Etobicoke strip club and sexually assaulting her.
Police believe she might not be the only victim.
The incident occurred at the Foxxes Den, a club in the west wing of the House of Lancaster on the Queensway.
The 31-year-old woman was at the bar with friends Saturday night and the party stayed into the small hours of the next morning.
About 2:30 a.m., a dancer led her into the club’s basement, where he sexually assaulted her, police said. The woman told her friends, who called police.
Bar staff were reluctant to talk about the alleged assault yesterday. A man who identified himself as the manager of the House of Lancaster said the Foxxes Den operates only on weekends.

I also love how press releases always say nightclub, but we all know it was a strip club. How tame was it that all he got busted for was vandalism? Grade: C-
…
The grand-daddy of Pacman’s charges, this was the one that got him kicked out of the league. Jones was in the middle of a fight and a shooting. Allegations were that while he was in the club, he was “making it rain” on the strippers with over $80,000 (hopefully not all in singles), and knocking strippers‘ heads against the bar while saying that he was going to kill one of the employees.
…
Pacman seemed to graduate from spitting, getting accused of sucker-punching a woman in the face at the Body Tap Strip Club. Jones claimed that he just misunderstood the name of the club. Also, the rules for insulting Pacman just changed from “cover your face” to “duck and run like hell.” Grade: C+
…
If the Cowboys really want to bring Pacman back, they better put one giant clause in his contract about getting arrested. And ban him from strip clubs. And other “nightclubs.” And bars—really any place that sells alcohol.

They knocked because they were looking for a car that was evidence in a murder. Imagine the surprise of Dallas police homicide detectives this morning when, as someone opened the door, they noticed more than 200 pounds of marijuana inside.
They were investigating the May 28 murder of 28-year-old Armando Ochoa Santiago. Police say he was shot after a bar fight over a stripper outside the Palace Cabaret near Mesquite. Soon afterward, police arrested a 19-year-old illegal immigrant named Ceasar Guerra on a murder charge.

What do we have in common with Mayor Leppert? Ties to the Dallas Gentlemens Club, of course.Sure, we haven’t always been on the same page as Mayor Tom Leppert, but one thing we apparently agree upon is there’s no shame in accepting cash from people or businesses otherwise shunned by the masses. When we found a strip club’s vice president among the sponsors of Leppert’s fund-raiser and 55th birthday bash tomorrow night at the Dallas Zoo, our differences melted away, if only for a moment.
…
Our research found that Shaddox was previously the vice president of Burch Management, which owns the majority of the strip clubs in Dallas and is the Observer’s largest ad account. We then found him linked by address to the Dallas Gentlemens Club, and a woman at the club told us Shaddox could be reached at “the corporate office,” giving us a phone number to Club West Management in Addison.

These days, however, you log onto XTube (think YouTube, but dirty), pick your fetish, and find hundreds of options that cut right to the extremely graphic, sometimes distressingly clinical chase.
You could make an argument that there’s a lot to be said for the widespread democratization of sexuality. Indeed, one of the things I admire about XTube is that it shows that everyone can be sexy, even if “mainstream” society has rejected them.
But I also think that as a culture we need to find a more happy medium between the graphic and the puritanical. The act of burlesque reminds us of the simple glories of taking your time and allowing anticipation to build before you deliver the proverbial money shot.
Here’s hoping there are a few more young people out there willing to embrace such seemingly antiquated ideals, because these are essential life lessons that you can’t learn on a stripper pole.

… We are pleased to have a strong advocate of environmental stewardship in Tesoro,” said Bruce Harland, vice president of contract services in Alaska. “Our crewmembers work tirelessly to ensure not only the safety of customers’ assets but also the environment. Tesoro’s proactive attitude in stationing a Crowley tug in Cook Inlet year-round shows a commitment on their part to protect Alaska’s pristine waterways.”
The Vigilant is on long-term charter to Tesoro and is stationed in Cook Inlet, Alaska where it provides ship assist and escort services for Tesoro operated tankers moving in and out of the Tesoro Refinery dock (KPL) in Nikiski, AK. Without regulatory requirement mandating it, Tesoro chose to station a tug in Cook Inlet year-round to provide a higher level of safety for their fleet carrying petroleum cargo.
